Review: Jelly
A strained couple, Nick and Claire, rethinks their relationship when they meet another couple for drinks – Sebastian, a flirty polyamorous bisexual yoga instructor and Elle, a flirty Instagram influencer.
Jelly is a blast. The story feels very lived-in and honest, and the many problems the characters have with each other are very well-woven. The cast plays beautifully off each other and gives Jelly more charm and poignancy than one would expect going into it (or from only watching the trailer).
Not a fan of the music choices, but Jelly is fun and memorable – and absolutely one of my favourite shorts to come out of OCan22.
It’s a must see.

In his youth Alvin loved watching movies and would find himself spending his lunch money and allowance at the box office. He loved the Matrix and the X-Men films, and somewhere along the way, he discovered a love for horror movies — Hereditary, Midsommar and Mother! being his favourites. He now holds a professional writing diploma, a couple of journalism degrees, and likes to spend his free time reviewing movies on IMDB and for various magazines. @alvinwct
