Review: Pinball & Perogies (2nd Review)
Ottawa small business/live music venue, ‘House of Targ’, struggles to stay afloat through the global pandemic. What does this mean for the owners and the local Ottawa community? Is there more than just a small business at stake?
The story of Pinball & Perogies is roused by the COVID-19 pandemic and follows Ottawa’s beloved live music venue, House of Targ.
It’s a well-directed short feature by Sammy J. Lewis, and the attention to detail and compelling narrative make it a great watch.
I’ve personally been to the House of Targ, so the emotional impact makes it an absolute home run.

In his youth Alvin loved watching movies and would find himself spending his lunch money and allowance at the box office. He loved the Matrix and the X-Men films, and somewhere along the way, he discovered a love for horror movies — Hereditary, Midsommar and Mother! being his favourites. He now holds a professional writing diploma, a couple of journalism degrees, and likes to spend his free time reviewing movies on IMDB and for various magazines. @alvinwct
