Review: The Flexed Arm Hang
A young boy attempts to get a silver medal in the most daunting of middle school challenges, the flexed arm hang.
The Flexed Arm Hang presents a scenario of a gym class in 1978.
The short film has such depth and character, you can’t help but fall in love with it. The atmosphere is stereotypical to begin with but turns into something thoughtful and tender. All the young actors shine, and the voiceover brings energy and authenticity to the viewing experience.
This short is one of my favourites to come out of OCan21.

In his youth Alvin loved watching movies and would find himself spending his lunch money and allowance at the box office. He loved the Matrix and the X-Men films, and somewhere along the way, he discovered a love for horror movies — Hereditary, Midsommar and Mother! being his favourites. He now holds a professional writing diploma, a couple of journalism degrees, and likes to spend his free time reviewing movies on IMDB and for various magazines. @alvinwct
