film613 Relaunched by Treepot Media

Treepot Media has relaunched the film613 blog, a resource serving the film, television and creative arts community in Ottawa and the Outaouais region. Originally hosted by the Ottawa Canadian Film Festival (OCan) when it was created in 2021, it features reviews, interviews, and articles from both commissioned and volunteer contributors, with a strong focus on local and Canadian content.

I started film613 while I served as a board member of OCan, and when my time with the festival wrapped up in 2024, I did not want film613 to fade away. There’s just too much great work happening and too many talented creatives who deserve the spotlight. I am excited to continue building and sharing that work through Treepot Media.

The newly relaunched film613.ca includes a local film festival calendar, new essays and reviews of films of all genres and lengths. Film613 continues to commission and accept volunteer-authored reviews and articles with a strong focus on local and Canadian content.
