OCan and CKCU FM93.1’s A Luta Continua presents a series of Conversations with Canadian Creatives hosted by Monique. This episode features an interview with filmmaker Kelly Saxberg ( representing the short film Silent Cries at the Ottawa Canadian Film Festival screenings in November 2024) and OCan Jury President Zachary Chabot.

Kelly Saxberg is a film producer, director, editor and cinematographer who has worked on over 100 films. SILENT CRIES (KIAYUNIK TUHANAK), documents the work of Navalik and her colleagues as members of the NTRC’s sharing circle. As a respected Elder, Navalik shares her experience and that of the other survivors who attended the private meeting with Pope Francis in 2022. She weaves her personal story into the narrative to bring an intimate perspective to a historical event and what followed.
