Review: Safe Space

Last modified date

Safe Space, directed by Matt Pittroff, proves itself to be a lot of fun when confronting an interesting question about AI.

The story follows a female scientist and her AI male assistant, who are in imminent danger, who are in the midst of evacuating their spacecraft, debate the terms and conditions of their no-longer platonic relationship.

Safe Space takes aim at how an AI bot compares in an emotionally-complex relationship between humans. It’s a fun and interesting short film worth checking out.

In his youth Alvin loved watching movies and would find himself spending his lunch money and allowance at the box office. He loved the Matrix and the X-Men films, and somewhere along the way, he discovered a love for horror movies — HereditaryMidsommar and Mother! being his favourites. He now holds a professional writing diploma, a couple of journalism degrees, and likes to spend his free time reviewing movies on IMDB and for various magazines. @alvinwct
